This beach is a great spot for families to enjoy. It's also a safe place to visit as there are no reports of theft or robbery. Additionally, the food stalls serve delicious regional cuisine that will leave your taste buds satisfied. Just be cautious of the reckless bikers on the beach road. And, to top it off, the beach has beautiful golden sand.

Kattankudy, a town in Sri Lanka, is predominantly inhabited by Muslims and is known for being one of the most densely populated cities in the country, with almost 50,000 residents. In 2012, the population density was calculated at 6,726 inhabitants per square kilometer. Unfortunately, Kattankudy has a dark past, as it was the site of a horrific massacre on August 3, 1990, when the LTTE, a Tamil Tiger Terrorist group, gunned down 147 men and boys inside a mosque. Despite its tragic history, Kattankudy is a bustling town with a thriving business, industry, and fisheries sector. The town covers an area of approximately 2.56 km2 (0.99 sq mi), with 1.33 km2 (0.51 sq mi) of inland waterways, accounting for 0.15% of the district's total land area. The central location of Kattankudy within the district makes it an important hub for trade and commerce.
