The initial stretch of the beach is a long pebble shoreline situated right in front of the city. As far as free city beaches go, it is quite decent with the added benefit of benches and a shower. The pebbles are just the right size for sunbathing and not too big or small. Although the water may not be the most picturesque in Croatia, it is conveniently located in the city center with easy access. On the day of my visit, it was not too crowded and remained peaceful until an Italian and American couple in their early 30s arrived and began bellowing on their phones. Having traveled through Croatia for three weeks, I have encountered many Italian tourists who are equally as loud, self-centered, and unpleasant as their American counterparts.

This beach is truly amazing, located at the heart of the town with crystal clear water that will leave you in awe. Unlike the other crowded beaches, this one is peaceful and serene, offering a tranquil environment for you to relax and unwind. However, it's important to be cautious as some sea urchins may be hiding under the larger stones even in the shallow waters. If you arrive early, you can also find a spot under the shade of the trees and enjoy the cool breeze.

Undoubtedly, this beach in Split is a gem. Unlike other crowded beaches, it offers a serene environment with only a few pebbles, making it a perfect spot for relaxation. It is advisable to purchase a pair of sea shoes for added comfort, especially if you are not fond of pebbles. The water depth increases rapidly, so you can comfortably leave your belongings nearby while keeping a watchful eye. Unlike other beaches in the vicinity, you can wade out a long way before it reaches waist height.
