Almost drowed in that beach, rip current. My friend had to be rescued. A politur officer after 5 minutes of yelling for a rescue jumped in. He was warned by his supervisors not to go in the water to do the rescue. They have no rope, no rescue equipment whatsoever. This is not the playa esmeralda that I was told to visit, apparently this beach was named Costa Esmeralda but the actual Playa Esmeralda is a few minutes drive from that area and that beach is calm and safe. Please beware, look into rip currents and how they can drag you in. I was on my feet up to my chest area and all of a sudden found myself in trouble. Quick online search I found that several people drowned in that beach. I was told that Yesterday August 16th 2024, another person had drowned.

This beach is truly exceptional! Located in El Seybo, Miches Dominican Republic 🇩🇴, it may take a bit of effort to get there due to its off-highway location. Using a Google Maps application is recommended to find it. It's also advisable to bring a four-wheel drive vehicle as the road can be bumpy. However, the effort is well worth it once you arrive. The beach is stunning, with a long stretch of turquoise water, palm trees, and a refreshing breeze. There are hardly any people around, making it a perfect spot to relax and enjoy the beauty of nature. Overall, this beach is definitely worth a visit.

In my opinion, Playa Esmeralda is the best beach on the entire east coast. The access has greatly improved, with asphalt roads leading almost all the way to the beach. Only the last 5 minutes of the journey require driving on dirt roads. The beach is incredibly peaceful, without any large groups of tourists (at least for now). The water and sand are clean, and I've never encountered any garbage during my visits. The wild landscape of palm trees adds to its unique and idyllic atmosphere. It's a beach that should be kept a secret so that we don't ruin its beauty.
