Blue Lagoon

Blue Lagoon is ranked 14th out of 90 beaches in the Epirus region and is located 61.6 km away from the city of Ioannina. Situated just 2.3 km away from the center of Sivota settlement, it is considered one of the most stunning beaches in the area. The beach is nestled in a natural location surrounded by cliffs. The coastline consists of several small bays with crystal-clear turquoise water and soft yellow sand, making it unnecessary to wear special shoes. The water entry is not too steep, making it easy to access. This beach is ideal for a variety of people, including solo travelers and those seeking a relaxing getaway. It is not overcrowded during the season.

As I ventured out a little farther into the crystal clear waters, I found myself immersed in a world of marine life. Countless fish swam around me, creating a breathtaking underwater scene that left me in awe. However, my joy was soon interrupted by the sight of litter scattered throughout the beach. It was disheartening to see such a beautiful natural environment being tarnished by human negligence. With a heavy heart, I gathered two bags of trash and transported them back to town via boat. It is imperative that tourists take responsibility for their actions and show respect for the environment. Additionally, the local government should provide adequate waste management facilities and regularly maintain the beach to preserve its pristine beauty.

This place is truly remarkable - a small slice of paradise on earth. Although we visited in 2019, I sincerely hope that it has retained its breathtaking beauty. The water boasts a perfect blend of teal blue and turquoise, making it an ideal spot for activities such as diving, swimming, and snorkeling. We arrived by boat, which included a delicious lunch, allowing us to fully enjoy our day exploring the stunning blue lagoon and other charming locations. Syvota was particularly enchanting. I highly recommend embarking on this wonderful aquatic adventure.

However, despite its lack of amenities, this beach is well-loved and can become quite crowded due to its popularity and small size. But don't let that deter you, the stunning water and overall experience make it worth the visit.
