During my stay at Villa Amfiario, I had the pleasure of visiting the South Euboean Bay on three separate occasions. The water was invigorating and refreshing, especially during the hot days that I experienced. The Euboean Bay boasts a high salt content, making it twice or even three times saltier than the Gulf of Mexico. Despite this, the water was calm and tranquil, making it easy to float and relax.
Although there was a day with slightly larger waves, they were still manageable and only reached a maximum of one foot in height. Additionally, there were a few jellyfish present, but they were harmless and easy to avoid. In fact, we even touched a few of them! The water was so clear that we could easily see the jellyfish and other sea creatures.
It's important to bring water shoes to this rocky beach, as they will help you navigate the terrain. However, the rocks are half the fun! I spent hours searching through them and even found a few chunks of marble. It's important to note that taking rocks from Greece is illegal and can result in a hefty fine of up to 4,000 euros.
If you're looking for a place to relax and enjoy a good meal, I highly recommend grabbing a lounge chair in front of the restaurant Fame. Their fried anchovies, grilled sardines, and ice cream are simply amazing! Overall, my experience at the South Euboean Bay was nothing short of fantastic.
