The beach in Crete boasts of crystal-clear waters and is known to be one of the cleanest beaches in the area. Although it may be a bit of a challenge to reach, the effort is definitely worth it. Additionally, the beach is unique as it is covered in gray pebbles. It is also worth mentioning that the beach is a popular nesting ground for turtles, making it an ideal spot for nature lovers.

Located about 50 kilometers south of Rethymno and only 2 kilometers from the village of Kerame in the Rethymno prefecture, Podare beach boasts gray pebbles that line its shores. As the first beach southeast of the small port of Agia Fotini, it offers visitors a chance to enjoy fishing with plenty of rocks to be found along the sandy beach.

That place is absolutely lovely - it's peaceful, has turquoise waters, and isn't too crowded. Plus, it's really easy to get to. Oh, and I should mention that the beach has gray pebbles instead of sand.

The beach is quite pleasant and offers seclusion, but I've come across better ones. The roads leading to it are in poor condition, making access a bit challenging. It's advisable to bring your own food and beverages since the nearest taverna or cafe is about a 20-minute drive away.
