Agiofili Beach

One of my top picks for seaside destinations is located near Vasiliki. This beach boasts pristine, transparent waters, perfect for exploring with a snorkel. It's a bit smaller than some of the other well-known beaches on Lefkada, so it's best to arrive early to secure a spot. Keep in mind that parking fees are 10 euros for the entire day. The road leading to the beach is in good condition and has been recently updated. However, there are a few narrow sections where two vehicles can't pass, so it's important to drive with caution.

In the past, I adored this beach, not just in Lefkada, but in all of Greece. However, upon my recent visit, I was disappointed to find that the once distinctive ambiance had been replaced with a highly commercialized atmosphere. To make matters worse, I was appalled by the overwhelming amount of plastic debris floating in the water.

Lefkada boasts an exquisite beach that is a must-see for anyone visiting the area. This gem can be accessed via a water taxi from the port of Vasiliki, making it a convenient destination. The beach is perfect for snorkeling and cliff jumping, providing ample opportunities for adventure. The water is crystal clear and teeming with marine life, which is sure to delight any nature lover. While there is a bar on the beach, it's worth noting that there are no restroom facilities available. Overall, this beach is a stunning spot that is not to be missed.

My experience at Agiofili beach left me feeling extremely let down. The steep 10 euro parking fee was just the beginning of my troubles. The narrow road leading to the beach was practically impassable, with barely enough room for one car. If another car happened to be coming from the opposite direction, it was a nightmare trying to navigate through. The path to the beach was strewn with garbage and the steps were in terrible shape, with no guard rails to speak of. The beach itself was already packed with people, and it only got worse as more and more visitors arrived. Boats from a nearby beach kept unloading passengers every half hour, adding to the already overwhelming crowds. Despite the beautiful views and crystal clear water, I was ultimately disappointed by the overwhelming litter, lack of parking, and overcrowding.

This beach is truly a gem with its crystal clear waters. However, it tends to be quite crowded and bustling with activity. Be prepared to shell out some cash, as parking costs 7 euros and renting an umbrella and beds comes to 15 euros. If you're looking to save some money, it's best to bring your own beach equipment. Although the road leading to the beach is a bit rough, a regular car should suffice - there's no need for a 4x4.
