This beach is amazing. I was lying there covered in fish paste, waiting for the seagulls to come take me away, when a woman approached me holding a mango and accompanied by an 8-year-old child. Speaking in Hindi, she explained that there was an injured seagull and as the self-proclaimed Seagull King of Chennai, it was my duty to help. After wiping the paste from my eyes, I followed them to where the seagull was kept in a blue cooler box, clearly distressed. Using my calming techniques, I was able to soothe the bird and examine its injured wing. With a quick splint and some gentle massage, the seagull was feeling much better. I returned the majestic bird to the woman and child, and as a token of gratitude, they gave me the mango and we sang the seagull song together before I headed back to my spot on the beach. Caw.
