Despite its proximity to the port, the beach is a wild and untouched place. Just north of the tourist port of Vibo Valentia lies the beautiful Timpa Janca beach, named after the white cliff that overlooks the sea without any vegetation. This beach is free of charge and does not offer any services.
Continuing north, you will come across the stunning Proserpina beach, which boasts fine white sand and is especially suitable for children as they can touch the seabed even when they are further away from the shore.
Adjacent to the seafront of Vibo Valentia is the long beach known as Il Pennello. This beach is a mix of rocky and sandy areas and is mostly free for visitors. Scuba diving enthusiasts are drawn to this beach, not only because of the wide variety of fish that can be admired in its depths, but also because it is home to the Madonnina, a Greek-Italic amphora dating back to the II-III century BC.
However, Vibo Valentia has many other free beaches to offer. Some noteworthy examples include Antonucci, Casette, and Cementificio, named after the cities in which they are located.
