Chiaia di Luna, the crescent-shaped beach on the island of Ponza, is a true gem. The towering rock wall that backs it adds to its charm, making it a sight to behold. The waters are so clear that you can see the ocean floor, making it a perfect spot for snorkeling. Access to the beach is limited to either sailing or taking the tunnel built by the Ancient Romans. Sadly, the local government has prohibited access to the beach due to the crumbling of the cliff walls. This has caused frustration among both locals and tourists, as Chiaia di Luna is one of the island's main attractions. Despite this, people still find a way to enjoy the beach. Every evening before sunset, a group of people ascend a hill that offers a breathtaking view of the beach and the teal waters. It's a perfect way to end the day, watching the sun set over the horizon.

The anchorage at this beach is absolutely breathtaking, with crystal clear waters that are simply stunning. The surrounding scenery is equally impressive, with dramatic views that are sure to take your breath away. Sadly, the beach is currently closed, but it's definitely worth checking back in the future to see when it reopens.

The beach can be accessed not only by sea but also by land. To reach the beach, follow the ancient Roman tunnel. Although the door may be closed, there is an unofficial path that leads to the tunnel from the top. The path is easy to locate, and you can enjoy the beautiful beach without any hassle.

The beach is truly exceptional, with its untamed beauty and natural charm. It is unfortunate that access to this pristine shoreline is limited to boat transportation only, as it would be a shame to miss out on such a remarkable experience.
