A stunning beach with miles of pristine sand and clear water, framed by dunes. However, storm surges often bring plastic and debris onto the shore. It would be beneficial to establish a protected area due to the site's archaeological significance.

I had been wanting to visit this beach for a while, so my expectations were high, and I have to say that I was not disappointed. The day started with a large "FREE" car park (which is quite rare), followed by a pleasant and somewhat lengthy walk (about 20 minutes) along the river, leading to a lovely little beach and then through a beautiful Pine forest. Eventually, we reached the tower with its Roman ruins and a long beach on the right with crystal-clear water and a sandy, gently sloping seabed. The only downside was that we couldn't get close to the tower for photos. On a positive note, the beach was patrolled by the civil protection rescue team, who had to continuously blow whistles to prevent swimmers from entering the fenced-off area. I should also mention that the municipality had provided several bins for separating rubbish, and people had used them without leaving any litter behind. It was truly a wonderful day!

The beach is only accessible when the gates are open (check online for hours), and you can park for free in the secure parking lot before walking about 20 minutes to reach the beach. Despite the slightly overcast day we experienced, the beach is stunning, offering picturesque views and a peaceful atmosphere due to its size. While we couldn't visit the castle, it can be seen from the sea. Additionally, you can spot the perimeter of Caligula's ancient summer villa underwater. The sandy beach is covered in shells, extending for about 100 meters.

The beach is beautiful and the water is clean. It is easily accessible via a dirt road starting from the parking area. Parking is free but limited for cars, although there is always space for motorbikes in a fenced area with a gate. The walk to the sea at the mouth of the Astura river is about 1 km. Continuing to the right in the pine forest leads to the area with the ruins of the Tower and another part of the beach, which is a bit wild with light sand and surrounded by coastal dunes. It is noted as a military area. It's definitely worth the walk to get there 😉. There are no services or tourist facilities, so be sure to bring water and any other necessities with you. In the pine forest, there are containers provided for proper waste disposal after your day at the beach.
