Biyadhoo Island Resort

Island resort, just a 40-minute boat ride from Male, offers fantastic rooms, food, and location. The clean house reef waters are home to wandering reef sharks. You can enjoy snorkeling, scuba diving, and surfing. However, the staff service could use some improvement, particularly in terms of being more kid-friendly.

Biyadhoo Island Resort is a private property and a good resort. The total coverage area is vast, surrounded by the sea on all four sides. They provide a speed boat transfer from the airport to the resort, which takes around 45 minutes. The rooms are standard, not overly luxurious. The resort includes three meals in its charges, and the food quality and taste are good. The staff is friendly, and you will notice many Bangladeshi workers. The bar is open 24 hours. There are a few sea activities available, and if you want more, they can arrange exciting activities in cooperation with other properties. Overall, it's a good budget-friendly choice.

The lobby staff were very unfriendly, but the waiters were very nice! The beach is full of shells, so you need water shoes to swim here, which you can only buy at the small hotel market for $50 plus taxes. They aren't even worth $1. The rooms were not as described, with little animals, lizards, and cockroaches in them. You have to pay extra for everything, and it wasn't really worth it. They charge 185€ per person just for a 30-minute speedboat ride to and from the airport. I've been to much better resorts in the Maldives for such an expensive price!

If you're looking for a private getaway for your holiday, Biyadhoo is an excellent choice. The island is small with beautiful beaches all around. You can hear the soothing sound of the waves from your room, which is a lovely touch. The food is good and tasty. However, the rooms are quite old and the bathrooms are in need of renovation. We had minimal interaction with the staff. We visited for our first wedding anniversary and requested any anniversary celebrations; they promised a complimentary cake, which unfortunately never materialized before our departure. There was a lack of information regarding the food, particularly about the availability of halal and non-halal options. Additionally, we were unaware that drinks for lunch and dinner were not included in our full board package, and we were informed of these charges only at checkout. There's not much to do on the island, so just relax and enjoy the beach!

We had an amazing experience at Biyadhoo. The beach is stunning, and the island is meticulously maintained, with constant cleaning and gardening. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, always going the extra mile to assist. The food is fantastic, featuring lots of fresh vegetables and a wide variety of dishes at every meal. Our waiter was particularly attentive and friendly. The rooms were cleaned regularly, with fresh towels provided both in the morning and evening. Snorkeling from the beach was excellent, with plenty of turtles, reef sharks, eagle rays, and a diverse array of fish, although there weren't many live corals. The highlight of our trip was the dive center, led by the wonderful Rosa and the excellent dive instructor Mau Sum, especially the amazing night dives on the house reef with dozens of nurse sharks.
