Bikini Beach Mahibadhoo

The beach that allows bikinis is located behind a worn-out black fence. Unfortunately, the area is littered with trash and broken glass. Locals suggest that swimming is safe in other areas, but sunbathing is best done here. It's recommended to have a companion when swimming due to varying depths in the water. The reef is decent and home to vibrant fish, stingrays, and even a small shark. Unfortunately, the weather was not in our favor during our visit, with heavy rain lasting for multiple days.

The shoreline is marred by litter, consisting of plastics, metals, and numerous shards of glass, posing a potential hazard to visitors. Despite being the sole location on the island where it is permissible to don a bikini, the beach is petite in size. The unappealing black mesh that coats the sand detracts from the overall aesthetic.

During our 19-day stay on the island, we witnessed a remarkable transformation of the beach 🏝️. Initially, we were not impressed with the cleanliness, limited sunbeds, and noise from the power plant. However, the beach has undergone a significant improvement since then. It is now spotless, with more sunbeds and beach umbrellas, and surrounded by lush greenery. Nasir and the team who worked hard to enhance the beach truly deserve a perfect 5-star rating 🙌. Although the noise from the power plant still persists, the snorkeling experience from the bikini beach is remarkable. Although it's sad to see dead corals, you'll be amazed by the abundance of marine life, including moray eels, baby sharks, stinger and eagle rays, and turtles 🦈🐠🐟. It's worth noting that the beach is a bikini beach, so expect a fence all around 🤷🏼‍♂️.

The beach offers a wide expanse of snow-white sand, complete with charming sun umbrellas and youthful palm trees. Upon entering the water, there are corals present, so if you are not at ease, it is recommended to wear special shoes. Personally, I went barefoot and enjoyed the sensation of a foot massage. Notably, there are brand new sun loungers in various styles and colors to suit everyone's preferences. The beach is well-maintained, and cleanliness and order are always maintained. I had an unforgettable 16-day stay here!

Our hotel is conveniently located next to the beach, which boasts a pristine ocean. The beach provides comfortable sunbeds and is fenced off, ensuring privacy and security. Additionally, there is lush greenery that offers shaded areas for sunbathing.
