The beach is absolutely stunning, with a lovely sandy shoreline and fascinating volcanic rocks located towards the southern end. It's an ideal spot for families and dog owners, and conveniently just a short drive away from Dunedin city.

The beach is absolutely stunning and can be easily reached from the road. It stretches out beautifully and offers rock pools and boulders for those who are adventurous enough to climb on them. I spent a delightful 2 hours here leisurely strolling along, and I easily could have stayed longer.

We absolutely adore visiting Karitane Beach, starting from the moment we catch sight of it from the lookout. The walk is wonderfully uncomplicated, and our furry friend enjoys it so much that he resists leaving. And honestly, we feel the same way.
