Surfing Turtle beach

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Surfing Turtle Lodge, and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience. The tranquility and peace provided by the surroundings made it the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. The sunsets I witnessed were nothing short of breathtaking, painting the sky in hues of orange and pink that left me in awe. The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming, making me feel at home from the moment I arrived. I also appreciated the safety measures in place, which gave me peace of mind during my stay. And let's not forget the food - absolutely delicious! Each meal was a culinary delight, showcasing the local flavors and ingredients. Overall, my stay was nothing short of perfect, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful retreat with stunning views and exceptional hospitality.

I had a fantastic experience learning to surf at Surfing Turtle. The staff and volunteers were attentive and friendly, with a special shoutout to Willbert, the surf teacher. There were always fun activities happening in the evenings, and the food and drinks were reasonably priced. However, there were a few downsides. As a vegetarian, I found the limited food options—only about five choices for lunch and dinner—became monotonous over a week-long stay. I would recommend a shorter visit. Additionally, the restaurant's hours are from 7 AM to 7 PM, so bringing snacks is essential. Another issue was the condition of the animals they keep there; some of the dogs appeared underfed and it was heartbreaking to see them begging for food whenever we sat down to eat.

We had an incredibly romantic and enjoyable stay at this beach! We were fortunate enough to be there during the turtle release season. If you're not accustomed to a rustic backpacking atmosphere or seeking a luxurious experience, this place may not be for you. The mattress in our cabana was a thin foam and it got quite hot, even with a fan. However, we still had an incredible time. The food was particularly delightful, the staff was friendly, and the beach platform was perfect for yoga (they even provided mats!). The surfing was also very relaxed, reasonably priced, and suitable for beginners. Since there is only one road in and out, it's easy to walk to and from the boat crossing without relying on the overworked horses that seemed to have a difficult life. We would absolutely return to this paradise and had the pleasure of meeting wonderful people from all around the world!

After getting off the bus at Chepe's Bar, you take a boat down the river and then either walk or ride a horse-drawn cart to the lodge, which is about 800 meters away. The resort boasts a fantastic owner and a pleasant atmosphere, complete with a terrace for yoga and relaxation. Aldo, one of the owners, is very generous and charismatic, always engaging with the guests. Surfing is available right on the beach, with board rentals and lessons offered. While the waves can be unpredictable at times, you can still catch some nice ones! There are also other activities like volleyball, games, and books available on site. Highly recommended!

Right on the beach, you'll find great surfing opportunities, with options to rent boards and take lessons. Although the waves can sometimes be unpredictable, you can still catch some impressive ones! Additionally, there are other activities available such as volleyball, games, and a selection of books on site. I highly recommend this place.
