Playa Tombolo beach

Although the beach is pleasant, it is not particularly exceptional compared to other beaches in Puerto Rico. The journey to reach the beach is quite tedious and the snorkeling experience is only average. Consequently, I am uncertain if it is worth the effort to visit this beach when Playa Marias, an equally beautiful beach, is located right next door.

The beach offers stunning natural beauty, although there are limited areas for natural shelter and shade. It is advisable to bring an umbrella, tent, tarp or similar items to protect yourself from the sun. To secure a good parking spot, it is recommended to arrive early as the beach is quite popular. After 8-8:30am, the parking spots become scarce. The beach is situated in a serene cove and has a peaceful ambiance. During low tide, a compact sand beach is exposed, and visitors can take a leisurely stroll near the rock barrier that shields the cove. It is important to exercise caution and avoid getting too close to the crash zone, as the waves and current can be quite forceful. The area is teeming with sea life, including sea urchins, fish, seaweed, kelp, and other marine animals. These creatures are not aggressive, and it is safe to observe them from a distance. However, it is essential to respect their space and maintain a safe distance from the urchins to avoid injury. Visitors are advised to watch their step.

This beach is an absolute gem, tucked away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The vast expanse of sand offers plenty of space to lay out your beach blanket and soak up the sun. The surrounding trees provide a welcome respite from the heat, offering shaded areas to relax in. While it may be acceptable to sunbathe in the nude here, it's important to be respectful of others and maintain discretion. As long as you keep to yourself and avoid crowded areas, you're sure to have a wonderful time at this serene and peaceful beach.

The beach with stunning scenery and serene ambience. During our visit on a Saturday, the atmosphere was peaceful and tranquil. Two beaches are available, both nestled in a cozy cove. The recommendation to visit this beach came from the locals themselves. It is essential to maintain its pristine condition by keeping it clean.

Although the dirt road leading up to it may seem daunting to some, our trusty CRV had no trouble navigating it. The rocky terrain near the shore provides a safe and secure area for wading, but it's best to avoid venturing too far out. A natural pool has formed, which is approximately the size of a hot tub, and is a great spot to relax and unwind. This beach is remote and uncrowded, with miles of pristine sand to stretch out on and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.
