Retorta beach is a hidden gem - rarely visited, yet stunningly beautiful. When the tide goes out, it reveals a path to a nearby island.

The beach used to be well-maintained, but it appears that the local government has stopped giving it the same attention it used to receive. There are hardly any litter bins, the sand is extremely dirty, and there are no lifeguards on duty. What's more, it's not easily accessible.

A paradise - a precious gem! It's a spectacular beach, with an island that can be accessed at low tide and a beautiful landscape. Plus, it has all the basic amenities you need for a great day at the beach.

It's a great beach in the morning when there's plenty of room, but it can get a bit crowded as the tide comes in. The sand is full of shells, so wearing beach shoes is highly recommended, especially if you want to explore the small islands that appear when the tide goes out. Otherwise, your feet won't thank you!

Fairly quiet and well-protected from the north winds that are so common in summer in the Ría de Arousa. It also has basic amenities available, so you don't have to worry about bringing too much. If you're planning on walking around a lot, it's best to wear flip-flops, as the sand in the wet zone is made up almost entirely of shell debris and can feel quite uncomfortable on your feet.
