Currently, there is no seaside walk available due to ongoing construction, and access to the beach is limited as most of it is covered by construction. Boiçucanga beach is located in the central area of São Sebastião city, and it is very peaceful. It is conveniently situated near various amenities such as a hospital, mall, restaurants, gas stations, banks, and a supermarket. The beach offers an outstanding sunset over the ocean, and there are other nearby beaches that can be reached by car through winding mountainous roads in the Serra do Mar State Natural Park, which is well-preserved. Each day, you can visit a different beach by car, with the farthest one taking around a 30-40 minute drive (Maresias). We have also visited Cambury and Camburysinho, which are located right next door and have easy access and parking spaces. These two beaches are separated by a river that can be easily crossed with the water reaching chest level. Barra do Sahy Beach is a quieter beach with strong waves, and it has a river that flows into the ocean. To reach this beach, you need to cross a wooden bridge and the access and parking can be a bit more challenging. However, it is located near the larger Baleia beach, which has easier access. Barra do Una beach is a beautiful long beach where you can choose to swim in either the fresh water river or the ocean. It is also easier to find parking space and access. Juquehy Beach has very calm waters, but it is one of the busiest and most crowded areas with heavy traffic. When it rains, we either stay around the mall and nearby restaurants or drive for about an hour (due to heavy traffic) to Historic São Sebastião to visit the Cathedral, museums, and walk around the historic cobblestone streets and restaurants. Additionally, there are waterfalls trails that can be accessed from Boiçucanga.
