As you walk east from Mumbles point, the coastline path will lead you through some developed beaches on a well-maintained path. However, once you reach the far end of Caswell, the terrain becomes more rugged and can get quite muddy during the winter season. After a short trek around the cliff, you'll finally reach Brandy Cove, which is nestled between short, steep cliffs. This small, rocky inlet has a name that suggests some mysterious, ancient smuggling activity. The best time to visit Brandy Cove is on a warm May Day when the late spring sunshine sparkles on the sea. There are no houses or cars to interrupt the peaceful atmosphere, and no ice cream parlors to distract you. This is a beautiful, unspoiled slice of the Gower coastline that's definitely worth a visit.

The bay is a fantastic secluded spot, though it can get quite cramped when the tide comes in. However, there's plenty of room to explore when the tide is out, making it an ideal place to escape the crowds.

Brandy Cove has a rich history, having been a popular spot for smugglers and the site of a tragic murder where a woman's body was hidden in one of the caves. Locals also tell stories of a woman named Old Moll who lived in one of the caves and was believed to be a witch due to the misfortunes that befell the villagers and their animals when she passed through. Despite being shot with a silver bullet and maimed in one leg, she mysteriously disappeared and was never seen again. Despite its haunting past, Brandy Cove offers a lovely walk down to a secluded cove that is never overrun with visitors and is a great spot for a day out with your furry friends as dogs are allowed.
