Mafia Island Beach

Mafia has the best dive base, and David and Danielle are incredibly responsive and accommodating when it comes to requests for dive sites. They have two great boats for morning double dives, and the dive leads are highly experienced and excellent at pointing out all the marine life. The shore dives are definitely a must-do, as I saw multiple fascinating creatures like frog fish, hairy frog fish, guitar rays, and sea horses. Hamisi was an excellent guide for the shore dives. If you're an AOW/CMAS ** or above, you must ask about doing Kinasi Pass, but only if the tides are right.

The diving operator was excellent! During our stay at Chole island, they picked us up every day with their dhow to take us diving. The equipment was of high quality, and the guides were knowledgeable about the sites. They were skilled at identifying fascinating marine life and made sure that the experience was both enjoyable and stress-free. We highly recommend the Mafia Island Diving sites for anyone looking to dive in Chole Island Marine park. While we only explored the inner sites due to unfavorable weather conditions along the outer reef, we still managed to complete four dives with them.

My partner and I recently had the pleasure of spending nine delightful days diving with Mafia Island Diving, which was undoubtedly the highlight of our trip to the island. Under the guidance of Peter, who was not only kind but also highly organized and knowledgeable, I completed the SSI advanced training with ease. The team at Mafia Island Diving, led by the amazing Dani, was equally friendly, professional, and attentive. From the moment we stepped into the shop, we were treated like old friends. The dive center was well-equipped with top-quality gear and ID books, and we loved the spacious outdoor area with sunbeds where we could relax and write our logbooks after each dive. Not to mention their lovely diving boat, which we occasionally sailed back on, weather permitting. We would wholeheartedly recommend Mafia Island Diving to anyone looking for a fantastic diving experience, and we can guarantee that you will be well taken care of. If you're planning a trip to Tanzania, I highly recommend checking out Mafia Island and the diving opportunities it offers. My partner and I visited in early August and it was an unforgettable experience. Although it was my first time diving, I received my open water SSI certification from the wonderful team at Mafia Island Diving. My partner had dived before and was equally impressed with the quality of the dives and the attention to safety from the staff and owners. My diving instructor, Dickson, had over 20 years of experience and was an exceptional teacher. Haji, our diving guide for the rest of the trip, had a keen eye for spotting the tiniest and most stunning marine life. The staff and owner, Dani, were all incredibly friendly, accommodating, and professional. After our dives, we enjoyed lunch and relaxed at the diving school's sunbeds on the beach. Overall, our experience with Mafia Island Diving was exceptional and we would love to return in the future.

During our trip to Mafia Island in January, we stayed at Pole Pole and joined the Discover Scuba Diving course with Mafia Diving. David, who is the head of the diving team, was incredibly charming, patient, and professional in handling our group of four adults and six teenagers, who were sometimes chaotic. He was able to reassure the nervous novice divers with his calm demeanor and patience, and he handled the teenage boys' moments of excessive enthusiasm (and sometimes their fathers') with equal poise. As a result, we all had an unforgettable diving experience. Additionally, we enjoyed some lovely snorkeling and sunset dhow sailing excursions with the team during our stay. We are incredibly grateful to David and his team of guides, dive masters, boatmen, and others for taking such good care of us with their relaxed professionalism and good humor. They truly made our time on Mafia Island special and became our friends. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a fantastic diving experience.
