Camping and fires are strictly prohibited on all parts of Longboat Key. There is extremely limited parking available. Longboat Key serves as a sanctuary for birds and wildlife, hence only legitimate service dogs are permitted, with clear signs indicating beach regulations at every entry point. The beaches are regularly patrolled by the police to ensure compliance with the rules.

There isn't much parking available, but it's a fantastic spot for surfing or simply relaxing at the beach.

This is my secret escape. There are never more than ten people here. I usually park my car at the church across the street. The water is absolutely stunning. I frequently get to witness the breathtaking sunset.

The beach is absolutely stunning. I had the incredible opportunity to witness a dolphin engaging in a playful game of catch with a shiny object right near the shoreline. Observing the shorebirds brings immense joy to my heart.

4 Frustrating

This beach was once a breathtaking sight, with its natural beauty and the refreshing scent of saltwater carried by the wind. The cool sand provided respite from the scorching sun, and the water was pristine, displaying shades of blue, green, or aqua. Watching the sun set was a truly awe-inspiring experience. Regrettably, the beach has now been plagued by red tide every year, emitting an unpleasant odor reminiscent of soiled baby diapers. It is disheartening that Florida has not taken sufficient measures to address this issue.
