Mad River Beach

The lupines, brush, river, and beach offer a delightful setting for a leisurely stroll. The small dunes add to the charm of the area. The river also provides a wonderful opportunity for fishing. The ocean and river sides are equally fantastic and offer great spots to relax and take in the beauty of the surroundings.

Although this beach may not be the most awe-inspiring one I have visited, it still holds a special place in my heart. The journey to reach it is just as enchanting as the destination itself, with a scenic river flowing nearby and the sight of stunning rocks and driftwood. The diverse wildlife adds to the charm of this beach. What I love most about it is the vast expanse of sand, providing ample room for social distancing and various activities.

Attention drone owners: flying your drone is restricted at this beach due to low-flying aircraft and planes. I learned this the hard way and it was a hassle to carry a drone I couldn't use. Compared to Clam Beach, this beach is far superior. The clams are abundant and intact, and the walk to the river and ocean connection is longer but more scenic. My friend used his phone to measure the distance from the parking lot to the end, which was 3.7 miles. Was it worth the 7-mile round trip? Absolutely, as we indulged in whatever food we desired without shame. This beach offers plenty of interesting sights as it is less frequented by humans. The lengthy walk deters most people, resulting in a greater variety of shells to be found. However, be prepared to encounter some wildlife that may be better off in their natural habitats. Would I recommend this beach? Without hesitation!

A beautiful park with an abundance of sand dunes and a wild ocean that featured colossal waves was a sight to behold. However, the journey to reach this destination was not without its challenges, as the roads were bumpy with numerous potholes that forced me to slow down. Being from Washington State, where most beaches are rocky, I was grateful for the opportunity to enjoy a sandy beach. The weather was cloudy and chilly, but the ocean's breathtaking beauty kept me captivated and distracted from the unfavorable weather conditions.

I had the pleasure of visiting this beach for the first time and the journey to get there was quite fascinating. The route was adorned with numerous old barns and houses that added to the charm of the place. The beach itself was a sight to behold with its stunning beauty. For those who have a fondness for stones, this beach will definitely be a treat for you.
