There is a public shower available before you reach Kapalua Parking. I visited the beach twice in early October and it was completely empty both times. The beach has a lot of space, but the waves are quite large and can be dangerous, so it's not recommended for kids. The water is a beautiful shade of blue, similar to the neighboring Kapalua Bay. If you take the boardwalk along the Ironwood Cliffs, you can access the Kapalua Coastal Trail, which leads to Kapalua Bay and takes about 20 minutes to walk/hike. Neither beach has a lifeguard on duty. There is a small, free parking lot available at Kapalua Parking (Onolea Beach).
