This is one of my favorite destinations in Eastern Michigan! The site is very accessible, and the views are breathtaking. The temperatures are generally milder compared to other parts of the state. The vistas from the top of the Lighthouse are spectacular, with Lake Huron appearing so blue. Looking north, the lake is so vast it feels like being at the ocean. Additionally, it's worth taking a drive around the waterfront to the south towards the International Bridge, visiting the Thomas Edison Museum, and watching the freighters pass under the bridge and navigate the wild St. Clair River. The Lighthouse's gift shop offers a nice variety of gifts and mementos, and light snacks are available for purchase. The restroom is clean and handicap accessible. Walking along the beach in search of special rocks is both fun and interesting. Just remember, the water is cold and swift as three huge lakes flow through this area. Enjoy yourself, but stay safe.
