The water isn't very attractive and has a fishy odor...the sand is definitely not white. It's convenient that there are showers and dressing cabins.
We visited the beach near Komotini early in the season and found it to be pleasant, though it was a bit rocky so it's advisable to bring water shoes.
The beach is on the smaller side and conveniently located near the port. It offers a decent selection of bars and cafes. The sunbeds are complimentary as long as you make a purchase of drinks or food from the nearby establishments. Due to the unfavorable weather in June, the beach was relatively empty this year, leaving plenty of available spots.
This is the perfect spot in Greece for a family getaway. The accommodations are lovely and right on a stunning beach. The owner is a delight to interact with, making the experience even more enjoyable.
