Latest reviews on Chania's beaches

Paralia Tersanas
4 Alena Prida

This cozy beach may appear more expansive in photographs, but it provides ample space for families to enjoy the refreshing sea. However, be wary of pesky sand fleas that may make an appearance. While the rental fees for umbrellas and lounge chairs may be steep compared to other nearby beaches, bringing your own equipment can make for a more affordable and pleasant experience. The canteen's drink prices may also be on the higher side. It's best to avoid laying directly on the moist sand to prevent a damp towel, but the ocean's cool waters are a welcome respite. Overall, this beach is a great spot for families seeking a relaxing day by the sea.

SunSet Beach
10 Lilija Kuzminskaitė

This beach is really lovely with its soft sand, and you can find hotels offering comfortable beds as well as restaurants where you can relax on beds. The prices for a day's stay range from 5 to 9 euros.

Kalami beach
10 Lena Kowalski

This charming and intimate beach boasts a delightful cafe with hospitable and amiable staff. The cafe offers complimentary sun beds to its patrons, making it a perfect spot to relax and soak up the sun. The beach is also a fantastic destination for snorkeling, with an abundance of fascinating marine life to discover. Additionally, there is a jetty for those who enjoy jumping or diving into the refreshing waters. All in all, this is a wonderful little spot that is sure to leave a lasting impression.

Katholiko Beach
8 Sarina Kozlovski.

The location is not precisely a beach, but rather a section of the monastery grounds that requires a fee of 2.5€ per person to access via a hike. The descent took us an hour and the ascent was notably more challenging and also took an hour. Some parts of the trail are difficult, so it may not be ideal for young children. However, the view from the bottom was certainly worth the effort. Although swimming is not permitted, the scenery is still stunning.

Sosorides beach
10 Soren Jensen

This charming beach is a hidden gem, unspoiled by the crowds of tourists that often flock to popular destinations. Its pristine sands and glistening waters are a sight to behold, inviting visitors to take a refreshing dip or simply bask in the sun. The beachfront also boasts some delightful eateries, where you can savor delicious cuisine while enjoying the stunning views of the ocean. Overall, this beach is a must-visit for those seeking a tranquil and picturesque escape.
