Latest reviews on Karkala's beaches

Malpe Beach
8 Kareem Ali

To begin with, the parking lot was well-maintained and had plenty of space, although there is a charge for parking. The park itself was tidy and had lush greenery, as well as some art installations that added interest to the area. The view from the beach was truly stunning, offering a panoramic vista of the Arabian Sea and St. Mary's Island, which can even be accessed from the beach. The sea walk was pleasant and visually pleasing, although it didn't offer anything particularly unique. While the beach itself was spacious, it wasn't well-lit at night and therefore wasn't very useful after dark. The only real attraction for children was a small funfair.

Panambur Beach

This beach is a perfect spot to relax and unwind, especially during the late afternoon hours near the port area. The sunset view is simply breathtaking and makes for an ideal time to enjoy the surroundings.

Delta Beach Backwater
10 Lena Kip

This so-called awesome beach may seem picturesque with its river islands and boat rides, but don't be fooled by its superficial charm. The only time worth visiting is either at the crack of dawn or during sunset, when the sun's rays can distract from the lackluster scenery. And let's not forget about the thrilling mangrove swamps that offer a leisurely ride - because who doesn't want to spend their vacation surrounded by murky, stagnant water? Overall, this beach may be scenic, but don't expect anything more than a mediocre tourist trap.

Suratkal Beach
8 Abhiraaj Patil

This is the perfect destination for those seeking a peaceful and picturesque experience. The sunset views are simply breathtaking, and the lighthouse and abandoned ship add to the overall charm of the place. However, it's important to note that there are no lifeguards on duty, so please stay on the shore and enjoy the view. Additionally, let's all do our part in keeping the environment clean by not leaving any plastic or hazardous waste on the beach.

Mattu Beach
8 Zara

This beach is incredibly clean and not too crowded, making it the perfect spot for families looking for a more peaceful experience in Udupi. The beach itself is well-maintained and pleasant. However, it is a bit of a trek from the city center and there aren't many dining options nearby.

NITK Beach
10 Elias

This is the perfect spot at NITK to unwind and clear your mind. I thoroughly enjoyed spending time here while pursuing my master's degree.
