This beach is one of the best I've ever visited. The sand is incredibly soft and perfect for swimming. There are no facilities like toilets, showers, or lifeguards, but limited parking is not an issue. Surprisingly, the water is not as cold as other beaches in Connemara.
The proprietor was extremely rude. We wanted to visit Uggool beach, but the road appeared to be closed. There were signs, barriers, and a CCTV camera preventing access. Suddenly, this landowner showed up, and when we asked if we could visit the beach, he demanded 25€ for a guided tour of his farm. In the end, we turned the car around. It's a shame that people try to profit from public spaces. Nature *should* be accessible to everyone.
We were searching for a nice beach to swim at and were thrilled when we stumbled upon this one. It's a stunningly long beach, with beautiful landscapes all around. Just be cautious of jellyfish in the water if you plan on swimming. I highly suggest making a stop at this beach, even if just for a leisurely walk if you happen to be in the area.
