Latest reviews on Calkini's beaches

Playa Norte Celestun
8 Kerem ESEN.

Yucatan boasts of one of its most magnificent beaches, which is considered as one of the best in the area. This beach is perfect for families with children as it offers a safe and secure environment for everyone to enjoy.

Faro El Palmar
8 El Capitán

The beach isn't too far away, although the road may be closed. However, when it's dry, it's incredibly peaceful. The location is stunning, but unfortunately, there is absolutely nothing there. The lighthouse was closed, and there wasn't a single person around. Despite that, the scenery was so breathtaking that it made the entire trip worthwhile.

Playa Maya

Upon our arrival, the staff greeted us warmly, and we were impressed by the spacious and stunning room. However, our overall experience fell short of our expectations. It became apparent soon after checking in that hand towels and beach towels were not provided. The staff, lounging on couches near the entrance, seemed inconvenienced by our request for these items, despite my husband's fluent Spanish. The hotel's location, far from Celestun, made transportation a challenge, as scooter taxis were scarce. When we requested a taxi, the hotel arranged for a ride to town, but we felt overcharged by the driver. Dining options were limited to the hotel restaurant, where we enjoyed a good dinner. However, we were surprised to learn that we couldn't charge it to our room as promised during check-in, forcing us to pay in cash. Breakfast, served by a friendly server, was enjoyable but slow-paced. We had to repeatedly ask for basic items that should have been readily available. While we believe the restaurant has potential, we opted to cut our stay short and found a more affordable and superior accommodation closer to Celestun after just one night.
