Latest reviews on Essex's beaches

Frinton beach

Upon arriving at the beach, we noticed the water level was high. As we waited for it to recede, we enjoyed lunch in the nearby open fields. We had difficulty finding many options for fish and chips or ice cream. However, we had no trouble parking as it was both easy and free. The beach was peaceful and uncrowded with soft, sandy shores. The water was crystal clear and refreshing. Overall, we had a wonderful time. The locals were extremely friendly, especially when my wife took a tumble and many kind souls came to her aid.

Brightlingsea Beach

This place has everything you need for a wonderful family day out. There's a beach where you can go crabbing, a huge field with exercise equipment perfect for picnics, a newly refurbished park, a kids' beach, an outdoor swimming pool, and a lake with ducks. There's also a mobile café offering ice cream and coffee. Parking is plentiful and reasonably priced. It's one of my favorite spots to visit. I ❤️ Brightlingsea!

We had a fantastic time at Thorney Bay Beach one sunny day, enjoying a fun-filled afternoon with the kids. The sand was lovely to walk on, and we all had a blast!

This beach is a true gem, with its picturesque scenery and hospitable staff. The ambiance is simply delightful, making it the perfect spot to unwind and soak up some sun. The overall experience is nothing short of amazing, and you'll definitely leave feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. Plus, the staff are some of the friendliest people you'll ever meet, which only adds to the already fantastic atmosphere. So if you're looking for a beach that's both beautiful and welcoming, look no further than this little slice of paradise. ❤️

West Mersea beach

The beach was aesthetically pleasing, but let's not get carried away with the hyperbole. It was a decent spot to catch the sunset, but don't expect to have an epiphany or anything. The tranquility was nice, but let's not pretend that the sound of waves crashing on the shore is some sort of magical elixir. Overall, it was a fine place to unwind and soak up some rays, but let's not oversell it.
