Galveston beach II

This park was fantastic. We had ample room to fly our kites. The sand is powdery and clean where you park. However, be cautious; we saw a truck struggling to get unstuck. After the entrance, the sand becomes wet.

One of the best things about this beach is the lack of crowds in the mornings on weekdays. It's an ideal spot for a peaceful walk. However, there aren't many intact shells to collect as the rough waves tend to break them up. Nevertheless, the scenery is beautiful. It's important to note that swimming is not recommended due to dangerous riptides. On a positive note, there are restrooms scattered throughout the area and ample parking available.

Sea Isle beach

Visit this spot if you prefer a less crowded beach experience. While there are no lifeguards stationed here, they do patrol the area regularly. We visited in the afternoon, but I STRONGLY suggest arriving before sunset to witness the breathtaking sky. Although we didn't encounter any snakes, there are warning signs about their presence. Parking is very convenient, though the lot is gravel rather than cement. All in all, it's a wonderful place to enjoy the beach!

Galveston beach III

The beach is pleasant and usually not too crowded. I didn't come across any restrooms, but I might have missed them.

Salt Cedar Av. beach

The beach was incredibly calming and peaceful, with convenient accessibility. I am eagerly anticipating my next trip, where I can once again unwind and rejuvenate in this serene environment.

San Luis beach

This hidden gem was once the best-kept secret on the Island, and I've been a regular visitor for years. However, it had been some time since my last visit until this past weekend when we decided to take our boys for an impromptu beach day. Although it was a bit more crowded than it used to be, it was still lovely. It was a Saturday and the start of summer, so the Island was buzzing with activity. I would recommend a four-wheel drive vehicle due to the soft sand. Fortunately, the beach was clean, and we were fortunate to have clear water (which is not always the case in Galveston). While there are signs prohibiting swimming and wade fishing due to the currents, the beach patrol is vigilant in informing visitors. As a parent of small children, we were content playing in the shallow surf just off the beach. It's still less crowded than the East Beach areas, and there's no need to pay or obtain a permit to drive onto the beach. West Beach is where it's at.
