Kg Pantai Mas Mas, situated at Jln Sg Burung in Balung, is a serene beach destination that requires a 40-minute drive from Tawau town to reach the Jln Sg Burung junction, followed by another 1 hour and 15 minutes to reach the final destination. The road leading to the beach is a bit of a challenge as it passes through an oil palm estate and smallholder area where lorries and trucks frequently transport their harvests to the mills. It is advisable to use a 4x4 vehicle as the road is not well-maintained. The entrance fee to the beach ranges from RM5 to RM7 (pickup), but visitors are encouraged to donate more for the tabung surau. The beach is immaculate and offers a stunning view, making it an ideal location for family and friends outings. There is one toilet and a bath outside the surau, and camping activities are also allowed. However, there is no electricity in the area, and visitors must rely on a generator that can only last for a few hours at night. It is essential to check the sea level for high/low tide before planning a day trip.

Getting to the beach can be a bit of a challenge due to the oil palm truck route, which makes the access road quite far and difficult. However, it's worth the effort as the beach offers free public entry and is a great spot to relax and soak up the sun.

The journey to the beach takes around one hour and twenty-five minutes, but the roads are slow and have many trucks and potholes. However, it is a lovely spot for a picnic or BBQ, and if you plan to stay until evening, it's best to bring a tent. It's recommended to download offline maps beforehand as the network signal can be unreliable, and there are many roads to navigate. There is an entrance fee of RM5 for cars and RM7 for pickups, which goes towards the surau fund. There are two toilets available, and local vendors sell their wares near the surau. It's essential to check the tide schedule before visiting, as the scenery is best during high tide. Additionally, be cautious when exploring the length of the beach, as there may be nests of wasps or bees near the trees.
