I strongly suggest bringing your little ones along to this beach - not only is there no admission fee, but it also provides an excellent opportunity to learn about turtles. I've visited a handful of times myself and can attest to its educational value.

Pulau Perhentian Besar boasts the finest beach around. For a brief period, we had the entire beach to ourselves. The sea is a stunning shade of blue and the water is so clear that you can see right through it. While snorkeling, I was able to observe a diverse array of fish, including a Napoleon wrasse, as well as some small sharks and rays. The sand is incredibly fine and ideal for swimming. The optimal time for taking photographs is between 11 and 15, when the sun illuminates the water and creates a mesmerizing turquoise hue.
