I gave it four stars mainly because of the sentimental value, the nostalgic atmosphere, and the warm emotions I have towards this place. Don't get me wrong, it's still a great spot to relax on the sandy beach, take a swim every now and then, and grab some fries or ice cream. The beach itself is unique and has all the amenities you need for a day by the shore. Additionally, there is a separate FKK area further down the beach.
However, this place holds a special place in my heart because I used to come here every summer with my grandma when I was a child. Unfortunately, its glory days are long gone. Only one of the many changing rooms is still open, and the upper promenade that I used to happily skip along as a kid is now closed off, most likely due to safety concerns with the old structures. Some parts of the structure have already been demolished, and all that remains are steel beams that once supported the stone structure. On one end, there is an abandoned old event location. The number of food and beach supply vendors has also decreased over the years, but you can still rent beach loungers and Strandkörbe.
Although the poor condition of the old buildings is likely due to limited funds for reconstruction, renovation, and remodeling, to be honest, it adds to the allure of this place. It's like exploring a forgotten location, where you can still imagine its former grandeur while strolling down the lower beach promenade.
So, if you're looking for a pleasant day at the beach, watching boats sail by, and a touch of melancholy, with the possibility of stumbling upon something interesting, then this is definitely the place for you.
