During our planning for a beach trip, I perused numerous reviews to return the favor. Our requirements were simple: a safe and effortless drive from Chania, no ferry or hiking involved, not too crowded, parking space, and access to food. Ilingas exceeded our expectations in every way. The drive was breathtakingly beautiful with well-maintained roads and adorable goats along the way. The beach is conveniently located and there is a small parking area near the hotel. On arrival, we indulged in some delicious food and coffee at the hotel's restaurant before making our way down to the beach. We rented two chairs and an umbrella for 6 euros and then headed to the small cave bar where we were treated to fantastic cocktails for 8 euros each. The bar also offered vegetarian options and sandwiches. The water was crystal clear and tranquil, and we were able to enjoy the beach without the usual crowds, even on a Thursday. This beach day and road trip was the highlight of our trip to Greece. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a similar experience.

The beach near Sfakia is truly magnificent. The waters are crystal clear and have a remarkable depth. Even though we visited in July, the beach was not crowded at all, and we had no trouble finding free parking.

Located in close proximity to Chora Sfakion, the beach is easily accessible by foot or car. Early birds can secure a parking spot nearby, ensuring a hassle-free visit. The added thrill of exploring the nearby caves adds to the overall experience. However, the beach's rocky terrain and lack of proper amenities may leave some feeling underwhelmed.
