Lots of development works are in progress. However it seems in slow pace. Determination by politicians and officials may speed up the works. Government and local authorities should show inclination to make this place tourist friendly.

Awesome beach. Suitable for peaceful walks. Calm environment and only less shops are available near the beach.

One of the Historical places in Tamil Nadu...One of the Ports in the (G)olden era and an important Port / place in the Chola empire. Sad to see the current state of affairs. However, this is one of the must visit places to understand our History / Heritage. Beach here has a lot of rocks and you will really find this a peaceful place. (Just sit on one of the rocks and observe those magnificent waves and their sound. It indeed will be mesmerizing. Adjacent to the beach, you have Ilanji Mandram, Kannagi Statue and Art Gallery. You will also observe one Heritage building ..now on the verge of getting ruined. When you visit, ensure that you don't dump on this beautiful beach and ruin it. Together let's revive this Magnificent place.

Excellent beach..... Doesn't have many food stalls or any juice shops... There are many dried fish shops .... Culturally a very significant place.... The ancient port of cholas and it is associated with events in silapathikaram....many places here are currently under renovation ...... There is usually a good crowd and the beach is usually busy.... The beach is clean and there are warning signs against swimming.... The beach is a rock beach mostly..... It is the place where kaveri drains into ocean

The place has all the vibes to be the best beach with an art gallery, library, variety of shops and peaceful beach experience. But it lacks maintenance, tourists should be mindful of how they litter. Best time to visit is 5pm to 7pm. Very relaxing and not so much crowd.
