Horseshoe Bay is known for being one of Bowen's most iconic and popular beaches. Despite its small size of only around 100 meters, this little piece of paradise is highly regarded as one of Australia's top beaches. Horseshoe Bay is a beloved spot among locals in an area that is abundant with stunning beaches. When visitors step off the sandy shore and into the crystal-clear water at Horseshoe Bay, they will encounter a stunning fringing reef that is perfect for swimming, snorkeling, and simply unwinding.

The pools on the right were stunning and there was a unique bird with a bright red head and yellow wattle. It resembled a turkey that lives in the bush, but I'm not sure what it's called.

There is a small beach near Bowen that can be reached via the esplanade footpath. It appeared nice, but the water was rough and filled with seaweed, so we decided not to swim. I've heard that when the wind and tides are favorable, the water can be stunning.

Charming small beach near Bowen, easily reachable via the esplanade footpath. It appeared lovely, but the water was rough and filled with churned-up seaweed, so we decided not to swim. I've been told that when the wind and tides are favorable, the water can be stunning.

This beach is amazing! It's never too crowded, even during school holidays. Parking can be limited, but we always found a spot easily. There's also wheelchair access with a convenient ramp to the beach. And there are plenty of hidden rock pools to explore!
