5 stars for finally having a beach with effective stinger nets. The scenery is stunning, and now you can enjoy swimming all year round!

Stunning beach. Swimming and bathing are limited to a single designated area because of stingers and crocodiles, but there's a protective net in place there.

A stunning, expansive sandy beach stretching from the shoreline to the tree line. This tropical rainforest beach features stinger nets and surf patrols for safety.

The warm summer waters are delightful, offering a stunning view of the majestic mountains. We visited in January. There is a designated swimming area that is roped off to keep out the "stingers," as they are called here in Australia. Back home, we refer to them as jellyfish, but they might be related. Additionally, there are lifeguards on duty, which is fantastic for both children and adults. Beach chairs and umbrellas are available for rent. It's a lovely place.

Four Mile Beach truly has everything you could want! As a famous jingle for a nearby luxury resort once said, this place is "too good to be true"! :-) Bask in the sun, dive into a good book, or simply enjoy people-watching in this serene and unique spot. A section of the beach is patrolled, ensuring your safety if you swim between the flags. You could easily spend several hours here. There's also a nearby lookout that offers breathtaking views from a higher perspective. It's definitely a must-visit when you're in Port Douglas! Here are some photos from our latest trip.
