I have occasionally visited Swanbourne beach over the years, and recently I have been extremely disappointed with the facilities provided for both beachgoers and restaurant patrons. The facilities consist of shared toilets, with only one shower, three toilet cubicles, and urinals for men. I am unsure about the facilities for women. However, over the past couple of months, the condition of these facilities has left me shocked. The shower cubicle has green mold in the grout and on the wall tiles, as well as slime in the drain grate. The shower floor step over has cracked edge tiling, and there is no shower head, which has been broken for over a month. The toilet bowls are heavily stained on the base from urine, and there is disgusting rubbish everywhere. It is clear that the facilities are not being cleaned. When I asked the restaurant manager about the cleaning and maintenance, he explained that it is shared with the council. During the week, the restaurant is responsible, but on weekends, it is the council's responsibility. After expressing my disappointment with the condition, the manager told me to complain to the council. He was only about 20 years old, and I doubt he has ever even used these facilities. If he were the manager of a fine dining restaurant and these were the facilities for his patrons, he would never let them reach such a disgusting condition and would take responsibility for their upkeep. Whether it is the council or the restaurant that is responsible, someone please address these disgraceful conditions.

I used to be laughed at for including beach hopping in my AUS visa application itinerary, but I was pleasantly surprised when it actually happened before the end of 2023. Swanbourne Beach was the first beach I visited during my recent trip, and it was incredibly beautiful and relaxing. I only wish I had worn the right shoes so that I could have walked further down the beach.

I would highly recommend checking it out if you haven't been there yet, but just be aware. There are some sketchy individuals who roam the beach with inappropriate intentions. We actually caught someone attempting to take pictures of us, but they immediately backed off once we noticed them.

The coastline is absolutely stunning, with panoramic dunes and a pristine beach. There are also attractive individuals enjoying the beach in the nude.

I visited the clothing optional beach and had a wonderful and liberating experience! It was a great opportunity to meet new people and I even made some new friends. The beach itself was nice, with white sand and although the water could be rough at times, it was still enjoyable for activities like splashing, body surfing, or boogie boarding. The beach is located about 300 meters north of the Swanbourne Surf Lifesaving club and is officially designated as a clothing optional beach. I went back on 12-05-1018 and it was still just as great, definitely worth a visit for its relaxed atmosphere!
