We visited Long Beach in the evening during a .6m tide. The sand was a bit soft at first, but then it opened up to reveal a stunning beach with ample space for driving. There are nice dunes to climb and for kids to play on. The beach is conveniently close to Coffin Bay, so it's likely to get quite crowded. The sunset view from the top of the sand dunes is impressive. The water is shallow, making it a great spot for young children.

We had high hopes for this beach, but were let down by the low tides and shallow water. The beach is located along a 4WD track, where reckless drivers put others at risk by speeding. If you have children, it's best to steer clear of this beach or visit during quieter times when there are fewer vehicles driving around.
