8 Very good

The beach has undergone significant changes since my last visit a decade ago. The improvements are quite impressive, with innovative features that enhance the overall experience. Unfortunately, the sight of litter strewn about the beach was a disappointing reminder that we still have work to do in keeping our environment clean.

This idyllic location offers a plethora of family-friendly activities, including picnics, kite flying, and thrilling ATV rides. Additionally, there are a handful of seafood shops conveniently situated nearby, ensuring that visitors can indulge in some scrumptious seafood delights.

10 Exceptional

Arrived at the beach early, only to find the tide was low. Upon inquiring with the locals, they advised that the ideal time to visit is around 2pm or 3pm. The beach is expansive, but it is important to note that there may be a fair amount of litter scattered about. Exercise caution when strolling along the shoreline, as broken glass bottles may be embedded in the sand. It is recommended to bring along a tent for ultimate relaxation and enjoyment.

4 Frustrating

The breathtaking view of the sea and the close proximity to Mount Santubong are the highlights of this beach. However, the overall ambiance is marred by the unclean surroundings due to the careless disposal of waste by some locals. Visitors are required to pay an entrance fee of RM2 per adult to access the beach.

6 Pleasant

A delightful morning spent at Pasir Panjang Beach, with its soft yellow sand and tranquil waters. However, it was disappointing to see litter scattered around. I wondered who was responsible for keeping the beach clean, perhaps the locals took care of it. There were a few food stalls selling delicious snacks, refreshing drinks, and fresh fruits. We noticed a small eatery called Warung Rani, but it was closed until 11 am, so we decided to come back in the evening. We also spotted a resort on the left side, but it appeared to be rundown, and we decided not to stay there. All in all, it was a pleasant visit on April 3, 2021.
