Belle Mare Beach

We had a wonderful stay at The Residence in November. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the grounds were well-maintained, and the beach provided a peaceful escape. While the service staff could have been friendlier, we must mention the exceptional warmth and friendliness of the chef, who truly stood out. We appreciate that. One of the highlights of our trip was Dive Passion Mauritius, conveniently located right next to the hotel. We highly recommend it! In particular, the dive master Koala was incredibly kind and professional, making our diving experience truly unforgettable. In summary, The Residence is a fantastic place to relax, offering excellent amenities and an outstanding diving experience nearby.

The Residence Mauritius is a high-end hotel situated on the eastern coast of Mauritius. It boasts breathtaking vistas of the Indian Ocean and is enveloped by exquisite gardens. The accommodations at The Residence Mauritius are roomy and tastefully adorned. They showcase a harmonious blend of colonial and contemporary styles, featuring wooden furnishings and soothing hues. Each room includes a private balcony or terrace, ideal for savoring the picturesque views. The hotel provides a plethora of amenities to keep guests entertained throughout their stay. It features a spacious swimming pool, surrounded by comfortable sun loungers and umbrellas, along with a fitness center and tennis courts. Additionally, the hotel offers a variety of water sports, including snorkeling, kayaking, and windsurfing. One of the standout features of The Residence Mauritius is its exceptional dining options. The hotel houses three restaurants, each offering a unique culinary experience. The Dining Room serves international cuisine, while The Plantation presents traditional Mauritian dishes. The Bar and Pool serves light snacks and refreshing beverages throughout the day. The staff at The Residence Mauritius are renowned for their exceptional service. They are warm, attentive, and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure guests have an unforgettable stay. During our stay at the Four Seasons, our son decided to take his diving course at the Residence's dive school. Considering his young age of 13, we didn't feel comfortable letting him go alone. On the first day, while we waited for our oldest child to finish his dive, we purchased breakfast at the Residence for ourselves and our other two children. On the second day, my husband, who was waiting for our son on the beach near the dive school, had an unpleasant encounter. Two security staff members and a hotel staff member approached him and demanded 4000 Mauritian Rupees (approximately £68) for using a sun lounger on an empty beach during a cloudy day, even though we had already paid for the dive school services. Unfortunately, we found the Residence to be unwelcoming and unfriendly, which is not something we would recommend, despite the excellent dive school team who provided impeccable service.

The hotel at Belle Mare sandy beach is absolutely wonderful, and it is located right next to the burned down LUX Belle Mare hotel, which is currently being rebuilt. Despite the construction, we were never bothered by the work going on there. All of the rooms are spacious and clean, with a huge bathroom that includes a bathtub, shower, and a walk-in closet. The housekeeping staff, especially our main maid Aartee, were truly amazing. They adjusted their schedule (twice a day) to our time out of the room, always bringing fresh water bottles and asking if there was anything else they could do to assist us. We took advantage of the complimentary water activities at the Yacht Club, such as snorkeling and waterskiing. The reef may not be as impressive as the Maldives, but it was still a lot of fun. The concierge was also fantastic, providing us with great suggestions for sightseeing and arranging tours, like a catamaran cruise to Île aux Cerfs.

This hotel is situated on a stunning beach and offers luxurious amenities and surroundings. The restaurants serve delectable food, and the staff are all exceptionally skilled. I definitely plan on returning and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Mauritius.
