Tortuguero Mayto

When traveling, it's best not to adopt a tourist mindset, as tourists tend to complain about things being similar to their home country. Mexico, particularly the Pacific Coast, is a stunning country. The customer service in Mexico surpasses that of the United States. So, leave any dissatisfaction or complaints behind as you enter Mexico.

I have previously stayed at this beach, but this time I went on a day trip with some expats who reside in El Tuito, which is approximately a 45-minute drive away. If you're interested in experiencing the true beauty of Mexico, I strongly suggest paying a visit to Mayto and its neighboring areas!

I waited until the end of our vacation to write this review because I wanted to explore everything in the area first. In my opinion, this is the best option in Mayto. The hotel offers excellent service and has a nice pool. The food at the hotel restaurant is honestly the best in town, even better than Tehua's joints. It's incredibly tasty and reasonably priced, especially when compared to the overpriced and poorly serviced bar next door. I will definitely come back to stay at Hotel Mayto again, and I'll make sure to eat all my meals there too. "La Tia" is the main cook, and she really knows what she's doing. The "Diabla" sauce is the best I've ever had, and if you like spicy, you should definitely try the "Mulata" sauce she makes. I highly recommend this place. 👍🏻

The rooms are extremely basic. The honeymoon suite was even worse than a Super 8 room. The floor was sticky, construction was incomplete, and the walls were paper thin. There were no cups, towels, or chairs in the room, and the internet was unreliable. The pool was filled with debris and leaves. There were no wait staff around, and the atmosphere was unwelcoming and unkempt. It was nothing like what was shown in the photos. We had booked for two nights but decided to leave for Vallarta after only 4 hours. It was quite depressing and far from the romantic experience we had planned for Valentine's Day. It was truly disappointing.

It's not amazing, but it's still one of the top choices in the area. The beach is conveniently situated at the end of a 7-mile long secluded stretch, and it's also near the turtle camp. The amenities consist of a satisfactory restaurant and a pleasant pool, with secure parking available on-site. The room offers Cable TV and a lovely balcony. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating, although the construction quality is lacking.
