The beach offers simple accommodations, with clean bungalows and bathrooms. Additionally, there is a great restaurant conveniently located on the premises.

They offer breakfast, lunch, and reasonably priced accommodations right on the beach. It's an incredible spot with a serene ambiance.

Positive: The beachfront location is great and the bungalows have a nice appearance from the outside. There is also a common area where guests can socialize, and having hammocks is a bonus for those windy days. Negative: Unfortunately, the receptionist I encountered was the least friendly person I've met in Mexico. This was surprising to me because people in general are known for being nice and friendly here. The customer service was really disappointing. Additionally, the rooms inside were in very poor condition. The mosquito nets were extremely old and I wouldn't even touch them. They were also too small for the beds. The toilet didn't have a cover, and the bathroom light wasn't working. Despite notifying the staff, it took them three days to address the issue. Thankfully, they did offer me a discounted price, as paying 500 per night for this would have been way too expensive. However, the village of Ticla and the locals have a fantastic vibe. It was just a bit challenging to get used to crossing the brown river.

The food was delicious and thankfully I didn't get bitten by any scorpions. The rooster woke me up early, allowing me to fully enjoy my day. The electricity worked perfectly when it was on. Surprisingly, I managed to avoid any dog bites throughout my stay. I'm eagerly looking forward to returning.

I have been visiting La Ticla since 1979 and it used to be one of my favorite spots for surfing with a great atmosphere. However, I must admit that I really enjoy seeing the locals and semi-locals from Guadalajara and other cities coming here to spend their weekends and enjoy the beach and surfing. Every year, I encounter several of them, and it brings back memories of the old days when we used to surf, camp, party, and simply enjoy life. The downside is that many foreigners have decided to settle in La Ticla's affordable camping areas on a semi-permanent basis, and this has negatively impacted the surf break and the overall ambiance of the place. Last year, I witnessed over 40 people in the water, and it seemed like they were just there to exist, smoke marijuana, drink, and, for lack of a better word, act like hippies. While it's nice to see hardworking Mexicans enjoying their beach break during their holidays and weekdays, the hippies have destroyed the once secluded surf break of La Ticla. Yes, I'm getting older and perhaps less tolerant, but it's just not the same anymore. Farewell, La Ticla, I will be heading elsewhere in search of my endless summer.
