It's a great place to stop by with plenty of parking spots, a coffee shop, a gift shop, and restrooms. The location is lovely for a visit.

The beach has amazing boulders and a stunning location. It's unfortunate that some individuals spoil the experience by vandalizing them with their names. On a positive note, we were lucky enough to spot dolphins in the vicinity, which was a delightful surprise.

Stopped off the highway for a quick visit. It's just a short walk from the visitor center, but please remember to wipe your boots/shoes before heading down. It's amazing how perfectly round the rocks are, almost like they're fake. They stay together so well, even when they crack apart, revealing a resin-like layer. (Refer to the photo for a better understanding). Additionally, the gift shop offers alpaca food if you're interested in feeding the animals, which is just a short walk away. Plenty of parking available as well.

This beach was our first stop on our journey from Dunedin to Lake Tekapo, just a short distance off Hwy 1. The sand here is home to these fascinating round boulders, formed from the calcification of dinosaur mud. Some of them are almost perfectly round, while others resemble petrified tortoise shells with hexagonal patterns of yellower rock. It's quite an interesting walk down the short beach to witness dozens of these boulders. There are a few stairs to access the beach, but they are not difficult to climb.

It's always a fantastic place to visit and take a leisurely stroll. I've never witnessed it without any tourists. Hopefully, one day I'll be lucky enough to visit when the tide and sun align perfectly. Fingers crossed!
