The Moken locals reside alongside the ocean and possess identification cards with the same last name. They create handmade braided rope and necklaces for purchase. It is a must-visit destination if you are traveling to Surin Islands.

Embark on a delightful 30-minute tour and witness the charming Moken houses while discovering the intriguing history of how the Moken people established themselves in Surin. The abundance of handcrafted items adds a unique charm to the place, though it's worth noting that most stores sell similar items. Overall, Sea Star Andaman provides an exceptional experience that's not to be missed.

The focal point of Surin island is undoubtedly the charming village, home to a vibrant gypsy community. A visit to this lively hub is an absolute must-do, where you'll have the opportunity to pick up one-of-a-kind, handcrafted souvenirs at incredibly reasonable prices. It's advisable to bring along small denominations of 50 or 100 BAHT to ensure smooth transactions.

As I strolled along the stunning coastal village, I couldn't help but feel a sense of awe and wonder at the natural splendor surrounding me. However, my elation was tempered by a tinge of guilt, knowing that my mere presence as a tourist was contributing to the potential degradation of this pristine environment. Despite my mixed emotions, the surreal experience was one that I will always cherish.

The Surin Islands are home to a local tribe, the Moken people, who have lived there for many years and primarily make their living through fishing. They all share the surname Kla Talay, given to them by Somdet Phra Srinakarinratachonnani. Tourists can visit the island with a travel agency to support the community and purchase handmade products to improve their quality of life.
