The hotel is nice, but it shows signs of wear and tear. For instance, one of the fixtures in the shower was loose, so I had to fix it myself in order to switch between the regular shower and the rain shower. The batteries in the room safe deposit box also needed to be replaced.
Other than that, there weren't any major issues. I really like the architecture of the place, even though it means climbing stairs from the beach up to the lobby elevator. However, there is an alternative way to reach the lobby elevator without using the stairs by walking along the sloping road around the hotel to the entrance - it's not too much extra effort.
The room was spacious and we had a sea view, so the view was nice. We didn't have the highest floor, but it was still good enough for some privacy.
The bed was soft but comfortable enough.
The beach in front of the hotel is very nice and generally quieter compared to Laem Mae Phim Beach.
There aren't many restaurants nearby (except for a bar and another resort next to the hotel), so the hotel's breakfast buffet is probably the best option if you wake up early and need to fill your stomach. They have a good variety of food and it's generally delicious.
The area is probably good for jogging. In fact, there is a suggested jogging path posted on one of the walls in the small gym in the basement. Just be aware of barking dogs, although I haven't encountered any aggressive ones.
In fact, the suggested jogging route shows a shortcut to Laem Mae Phim through the Morakot Mae Phim shrine via a dirt track that can only be accessed on foot.
Nearby is Koh Munnork Pier, where there may be some local food stalls set up at certain times.
After we checked out, we were headed to Koh Munnork and the hotel offered a ride to the pier for 50 baht per person.
The staff were generally friendly and helpful, especially the kind gentleman who assisted us with our luggage during check-in and took us to the pier when we checked out.
