The beach has a unique feature of black sand with pebbles. In addition to its natural beauty, there are also various dining options available including a good restaurant and other eateries.

We had a beautiful stroll along the cliffs instead of taking the funicular railway, which added to the overall experience. Despite the steep cliffs, the lady at the ticket office was very friendly and helpful, and we appreciated having the option of transportation for my mother. The beach itself is stunning, especially the red sand and cliffs, but unfortunately, the cold and windy weather prevented us from fully enjoying our time there. Additionally, the beach is on the smaller side, so there aren't many places to sit. It's definitely worth visiting for an hour or so in warm weather. The staff taught my brother how to kayak, and he was soon paddling out into the distance with ease. One suggestion would be to provide lockers for storing belongings while participating in water activities.

The beach is undeniably beautiful, boasting deep red sand and charming pebbles. Additionally, there's a cafe and even a railway museum situated atop a cliff. However, over the past decade, rock falls have occurred, obstructing a portion of the beach, especially during high tide. It's worth noting that the beach is dog-friendly, and I had a delightful time with my son throwing stones into the sea.

After taking the cliff railway down to the beach, we were disappointed to find that all the shops were closed except for the toilets. We didn't realize that they closed at the end of October. Despite this, the beach with its black sand and pebbles was beautiful and our dogs had a great time. We eventually decided to take a walk to the neighboring Babbacombe Beach.

The beach was an amazing spot for my family and me to spend quality time together. Although the waves were a bit rough, we had a blast jumping around. The facilities were also great, and we appreciated the convenience of taking the train back up as the walk was steep. Additionally, we encountered some lovely individuals during our visit.
