Fabulous beach, love that you can park anywhere on it. It's so huge, that even on a really busy weekend it still didn't feel overcrowded. Great sandy beach with toilets too! Some great rock pools and caves for children to explore. Amazing to swim in the sea, to see the Welsh mountains all around and Criccieth castle in the distance. Great beach for the family, we love it! Safe for children too because it's shallow to quite a way out, my two had great fun riding the waves on the boogie boards! Also good that separate areas for Jet skis etc down one end of the beach, and also that the beach is divided so that one half is dog friendly and the other half is no dogs. Cost £8 to park for the day. Well worth it for the convenience of having everything you need right with you. Just be careful how close you park to the sea if the tide is still coming in. Great beach, we love it!

A great sunny, warm day. Enjoyed by all. Lovely sandy beach which we parked on, is also dog friendly on a section. Cost £8 to park on beach and has a tractor to help if you get stuck. Payable when you go through the gate, they do take card payment.

AMAZING!!! Very reasonable price for parking, £8 per day, £4 after 4pm. Literally drive onto the beach, park, enjoy the day and drive off! Food and ice cream available and regular patrols by the authorities. If only all beaches were like this!

Stunning beach. Really clean. Not over crowded. Expansive - you’re not in other peoples way. Really friendly crowd. A little gem on the coast. You can take your car on to the beach but the route we took had a locked gate at the entrance. There is another route on to the beach which we didn’t find. There is a small free carpark at the entrance and a cafe that serves ice cream - even for your four legged friends. A super experience.

8 Very good

Despite originally growing up on the other side of North Wales, this is shockingly the first time I've been to Black Rock Sands. Even with a very random 2+ hour drive here, it proved fantastic for a great walk along the very clean beach. Parking is available on the beach, for £8 fo all day, at the time of writing this, if need be, which I guess goes towards the costs of running the maritime patrol staff here, as the tides can be quick moving. One disappointing thing (that knocked this score down) was, though... it states, as you drive in, that the beach area to the right is "dog free" and to the left "pet friendly." After walking the entire length of the beach (and back, of course), we observed more dogs running around the "dog free" area than the supposedly pet friendly area. Maybe the patrols should be a bit more observant?? Further to this, there is supposedly a 10mph speed limit on the beach, which 99% of people adhered towards. There was a specific car obviously thing it was Pendine Sands and going for the ye olde land speed record, with their 'tunes banging out'. Given their were families with young children around, albeit fortunately not very busy on this huge beach, a bit disconcerting that AGAIN, the patrols didn't appear to care. Other than that, a great (random) day out, with an impromptu dinner, had along the bay at Criccieth. 😋 Definitely will return. (I wonder if the patrols ever read this???)😎🫡
