Despite originally growing up on the other side of North Wales, this is shockingly the first time I've been to Black Rock Sands.
Even with a very random 2+ hour drive here, it proved fantastic for a great walk along the very clean beach.
Parking is available on the beach, for £8 fo all day, at the time of writing this, if need be, which I guess goes towards the costs of running the maritime patrol staff here, as the tides can be quick moving.
One disappointing thing (that knocked this score down) was, though... it states, as you drive in, that the beach area to the right is "dog free" and to the left "pet friendly." After walking the entire length of the beach (and back, of course), we observed more dogs running around the "dog free" area than the supposedly pet friendly area.
Maybe the patrols should be a bit more observant??
Further to this, there is supposedly a 10mph speed limit on the beach, which 99% of people adhered towards. There was a specific car obviously thing it was Pendine Sands and going for the ye olde land speed record, with their 'tunes banging out'.
Given their were families with young children around, albeit fortunately not very busy on this huge beach, a bit disconcerting that AGAIN, the patrols didn't appear to care.
Other than that, a great (random) day out, with an impromptu dinner, had along the bay at Criccieth. 😋
Definitely will return. (I wonder if the patrols ever read this???)😎🫡
