The beach is a beautiful mix of shingle and sand, and it's not too crowded. You can spot plenty of seabirds and maybe even a seal if you're fortunate enough.

This Suffolk beach is charming with shingle as its main feature, but also offers strips of sand for some variety. It's a peaceful beach, especially if you walk a few minutes up or down the coast. To the south, Thorpness is a reasonable walk, while Dunwich Heath and Dunwich are a bit further to the north. All of them have tea shops to recharge before the walk back. Alternatively, you can make a circular walk via the surrounding countryside. However, the two nuclear power stations cannot be ignored, as they are now part of Sizewell. The beach is dog-friendly, but please remember to bring poop bags and clean up after your furry friend. A small fee of only £1 for a couple of hours is required for parking.

To be frank, I was a little skeptical about visiting Sizewell Beach which is located next to a Nuclear power station. But to my surprise, there were a lot of people there even on a chilly winter afternoon and some were even taking a dip in the water. Additionally, there is a lovely tearoom on site and an hour of free parking.

The Suffolk coast is a stunning sight to behold, even if you have reservations about nuclear power. You can catch a glimpse of the old Maunsell forts, which are home to some seagulls, from here. The beach has good wheelchair accessibility with ramps leading to viewpoints. There are also information boards that provide details about the local wildlife. The parking area is spacious, and the toilets are clean and well-maintained, with facilities for both disabled and able-bodied individuals. Additionally, there is a charming little cafe that offers a good selection of drinks and snacks at reasonable prices.
